Episode transcripts

Today I speak with Steven Pollack. Steven is an entrepreneur and a data scientist with a background in Mathematics and Biostatistics.

We talk about different paths to data science, the importance of setting up the right incentives, and how to design data products that are actually useful. Often we underestimate data access and data quality, and this leads to data scientists doing the job of engineers or architects. We need to put users at the centre of the design process, we need to stay curious, and stop looking for push-button solutions.
